I need to find some hunting land to lease so I can take my wife deer hunting! She loves to hunt but we have very few deer and very steep hills here at home.

If all you want is any deer Missouri has over the counter tags and a ton of public hunting. Take a short vacation it might be less expensive.

That might be on the table! We have a lot of public land here too but our percentage of deer is like 1/4 antlered bucks per square mile. I genuinely tag out almost every season on my two bucks but I’ve got to put in a lot of hours and cover a lot of miles. I normally will want 4 to 6 miles every deer hunt, and that’s really just walking in to a spot I’ve scoured and setting down (on the ground) all day. She loves to hunt but she’s not gonna do that nor would I make her. Her dad took her to Kentucky when she was little and she killed a cow horn spike for her first deer and that’s the only one she’s ever took a shot at.

If you are in the 828 come down a little closer to the 910 and find a farmer who hates deer with a passion. Loads more deer in the eastern side of the piedmont than up your way. Set up a two man ladder stand or ground blind so its comfortable for her and go hunting!

OnX is your friend, the farmers are people just like you, they will not be upset to see a couple deer go!

I made one trip with a friend several years ago to Siler City to deer hunt on some of his family friends property. I was amazed at the amount of deer we seen! The first morning in the stand I seen 13 deer, two of which was bucks running does. I couldn’t believe it, I would go all season up here sometimes and not see half that many deer!!!

NW MO it will take a lot of time to find private ground and the public is over run. Just stating the facts to save you some time.
