Pawnee, I highly value your contribution. Farmers feed the world. I spent two years in Japan 45 years ago. They had a tradition of eating every single grain of rice from their bowl. It was explained, they do this out of respect and to honor the farmers that labor so hard to provide our food. To this day I will not leave a grain of rice on my plate. Thankyou!

Good mantra to live by.
Now part of my things to hold dear.
Dan Barnhurst , that goes for you too. Farmers are undervalued for what they do everyday.

Thank You for posting that , Pawnee

Made some chairs and small tables for our firepit area. Painted them with a good quality enamel house paint.
Found some large resin plant pots and those got painted to match.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Simple fish bat. Oak with couple Oz lead in the end to make it weight forward. Still needs couple coats of polyurethane or oil. Not sure which yet. Forgot how hard was to make something like this with just hatch and file. 🤣 Actually been several years since ran my lathe. Made this after watching my buddy trying whack 20lb Salmon with his pliers.

Gulo, WOW that baculum table is beautiful and somewhat horrifying! When I think about all the boys it represents it kinda makes me reach up front with both hands to protect my own!

I love the two pelters I bought from you and am thoroughly enjoying your book right now. Kinda feel like a kindred soul. Farm, hunting, fishing , trapping. Two wildlife degrees. Cougar study masters thesis with Wildlife Coop Unit at USU. Thirty years with Utah Division of Wildlife. Had a lot of similar experiences, just not quite as hardcore as you LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Look at all this talent.

Nice reflections of life, Jack ! I remember that table ...and the cozy she shed. Love the wuff skull rendering ...and your book, which I am halfway through. Hard to put down. The most beautiful home I have ever seen...bar none.

Amazing the talent here in fine finished furniture and everything else !

Wow lots of talent on here, it would be hard to figure out who's work impressed me the most. My short list would have to include Newhouse114s calls, the wood in MaCfees furniture, and of course Sharon's paintings.
