There’s a lot of variables is it a Canadian trap or American? Your idea of great condition and someone else idea of great condition might be two completely different things? Is the trap an atc, oc, pat date or a kenwood? Is it complete and is it correct?

Without detailed pictures you may as well ask what’s my 1957 hunting rifle worth with out listing maker model serial grade etc etc

Get pictures

It’s a very good trap, worth somewhere between 1500$ and 3000$
Depending on spring strength, damage to springs, spring stamping and if it has a Rome on it.

Question, what is that holding the springs down?

Let's go Brandon!

So the pan is welding down so it can’t move and springs are stamped but I can only make out the words Newhouse and community on the springs. Those clips things are welded to keep the springs compressed but it doesn’t look like the springs themselves had been welded on. How does this stuff affect the value?

You won’t know until you get the clips off. You want to see the springs bounce up full power and they well could do just that but any time someone welds near or on a spring. Think current running through the spring to ground. You can get weak springs. Few people want a trap welded up on. If it’s just a small tack you can probably remove it easy enough but if it permeates moving parts and fuses then that’s real bad.
It’s not a hum dinger of a trap by your description so I sure would not pay more than 1000$
