Cut up beaver tails 14 months ago. Between 40 -50 tails a 5 gallon pail. Tails were frozen and cut on a band saw into 2 inch square pieces. Made up 10 pails. Been sitting on the farm for 14 months in a sheltered spot in the sun. Picked up two pails and siphoned off the nice black oil. Pails were full to the top when sealed One pail had 80 ounces the other 56 ounces I just took the good oil off the top with a turkey Baster. Once I started drawing up clear oil I stopped. Put the rubber sealed lids back on and I will see what I get next year off the same two pails.

You use it as is, or add other stuff in it.? Hey Chad As is. Doesn’t freeze solid but gets thick in the cold. Nice and pure , works good for almost any animal. Works good on my bait stations in winter gives off a nice smell in -25 weather. Couple drops in a dirt hole for coyotes works good to.

How come you converted it to ounces and gallons? I was kind of looking forward to another spirited debate about the benefits of meters and liters and whatever else you guys use up there. :-) Sorry Laz I figured it would be easier for you to understand! See if you can decipher this! 136 ounces conversion Imperial gallon .884716 Imperial pint 7.07773 Imperial quart 3.55887 Millilitres 4022 Or US liquid gallon 1.0625 US liquid pint 8.5 US liquid quart 4.25

So, curious...you just fill the buckets with the cut up tails, and this is what you end up with? No extra liquid?
Act like a blank, get treated like a blank. Insert your own blank!

I called the light colored stuff the sludge. Not oil, not water and has a lot of suspended in it. The dark oil is the good oil.
Wish I had more time to trap....
