My son and I would like to hunt with some muzzleloaders but it appears the 209 primers can not be found around me. Anyone know of some in stock somewhere? Can pm me if you dont want your source public.

I was down to just two or three caps last year so I was looking to order all summer and it seems like it took forever before any came back in stock. I found some federals at walmart when they put their hunting stuff out even though it wasn't the brand I had been shooting. Later I found winchesters at Academy and got a couple of packs of those. I noticed the federals at walmart went quickly. Even the #11 caps sold out fast.

call every little shop around , bait shops , any store that would have muzzle loading stuff

you might find one flat someplace but online I see nothing

The problem will be the shipping if you order them.

Call all the local places around, you don't need many, 100 will last years.

My muzzleloader uses a sharp rock to set off the powder

I just cut a few cheap shotshells open and pushed the primers out. That should do me for the rest of the year.

There should be tons places get muzzloader primers at , not that popular or in demand like ammo for guns

Dave, the primers used in muzzle loaders are also used in shotguns. They have been scarce for awhile.

TBD another thought, do you currently own a muzzleloader? If not and you intend to buy one it's possible the dealer has some primers his in the back for new gun purchasers

Primers and powder/pellets are both scarce, and expensive if you can find them.
