Before anyone jumps me about it being to early let me say I already know they aren't prime yet. I had a taxidermist contact me for come animals to fill an order he has coming up soon. He is paying better than I think the fur market is going to this year. I am attaching a video link. This video shows why I switched to the tote release method on bobcats. I don't know why but this cat didn't want the tote over him so I had to hold him to get it there. The bobcat is the last half of the video https://youtu.be/nsWSmy4QySc
Wish I had more time to trap....

Great video! Fun to watch. I use a pole a lot. The tote looks exciting!

I've turned many cats loose by myself..........( stained bellys, small kittens) and all I"ve ever used is a catch pole. Choke them down a bit just to take the spunk out of them. While they are still dizzy I open the trap. In a few more seconds they are ready to run. The tote looks interesting.

Wonderful information and ammunition for PETA and the rest. Did they send you a thank you card?

Wonderful information and ammunition for PETA and the rest. Did they send you a thank you card? They don't need any more ammo, they have enough minds already twisted. If one vid is going to turn someone against trapping, they were already mostly there. Too many other social factors turning those people's minds to mush. The world is dividing more and more into major tribal camps; there is the "free world" were reasoning wins over emotion and there is the "controlled" world where emotion triumphs all. A far larger issue than just some trapping videos...

I have used both the pole and he tote and I will use the tote 90% of the time sometime you have to use the pole. In my experience the tote is normally quicker.

Get a piece of plywood and cut it about 4' x 2.5'. Cut a notch in the middle of the 2.5' side. Put a handle on the back near the top. You can walk right up to the cat using the board as a shield and put the notch down over the cats leg leaving the trap on your side of the board. Release the cat and they will usually run off but on occasion they will stay at the set until you leave.
