Finally decided to get the pre exposure rabies vaccine. Just wondering on side effects you guys that gotten it have experienced. There is a long list online but it seems like most everything online is intended for post exposure.

I got the pre exposure and never noticed any side effects.
Worked with a guy that got the post and he had several side effects. A dragging left leg showed up within a week. Last I knew a month later he still had it but was improving but slowly. I don't remember the other side effects now as was several years ago. He was bit by a rabid bat.

If rabies is prevalent or an outbreak is happening, and you handle live wild animals(cages, footholds etc) on a regular basis it would likely be prudent to get the rabies pre exposure shot.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I don't think you need to get it Blaine, you'll be fine. Rabies isn't that serious of a virus. Depending on where you live and the critters you handle, rabies may not be that prevalent so the pre-exposure series may not be much advantage. But the second part of the above quote in bold could not be further from the truth. Rabies is deadly serious! Untreated exposure results in death almost 100% of the time. There are only one or two documented cases of humans who survived rabies and they were still alive but were no longer functional human beings. I had the pre-exposure series and had no noticeable side effects. It was a series of 4 shots in the arm spaced out over a few weeks.
