Welcome. White17 can probably help you with the EARLY years of trapping. If he takes a liking to you, he might even go so far as to share some his early efforts at wooly mammoth herding, and saber-tooth snaring!
Made it almost 3 years without censor!

But first you have to take some lessons in reading smoke signals from White17. Is there a whole book on snaring Short nosed bears of his still around ?

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Pete but if your not yet I'd join the ATA they hold classes on a regular basis throughout the year . There website has some great information also .
