That's a question I'd like an answer to also.
Local farmer near me shoots upwards of 100 every year.
Game warden don't want to talk about it. Harrisburg don't want to talk about it.

Law use to be, yep. Haven't kept up on it lately.

You had to call warden within 24hrs and report. And make your living from the farm.

Reminds me of the Sneed story told by pat McManus. Guy shot a deer at night and got his buddies to help drag it uphill to the truck. Didn't want anyone to see their light so they were dragging in the dark. But halfway, they stopped to take a break when the one guy says " sure glad 4 of us are dragging this deer or we wouldn't make it". One of the other guys said in a shakey voice, " ain't supposed to be but three of us dragging this deer!" Then they heard the voice of Sneed the legendary game warden say, " ain't supposed to be nobody dragging this deer!" smile I think that's how it went.

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

legal to use night vision and thermal now. it should be extended to deer.

"We"
Just how old are you?

And by the way, almost all the land was bought from the natives not stolen. Maybe spend a little time learning history.

I am not doubting you guys but I tried looking up the law or regulation that would state what you’s are saying and was unable to find anything. I am aware of, and have participated in, most of the crop damage programs the PGC has had over the last 20 or 30 years. None of them allow night hunting.

The only state sanctioned night hunting that I am aware of is when they allow snipers with night vision to reduce deer populations in urban parks and such.

Can either of you guys point me in the right direction to where I can find something about farmers being allowed to hunt at night? I’d like to keep up on this stuff.

Eh...wot?

Whitetails you can get a permit for depredation but think you cannot keep any part of one shot with these permits (my understanding)
TPWD can also get permits for harvest outside of legal regulations

Exotics are another story. You can spotlight them all you want
Axis, Fallow, Sika, Red Deer, etc

I occasionally hunt on a farm owned by a friend. I don't know what the program is called. What I do know is that whatever program they participate in does not require any tags or permits. They can take deer using any method, with no restrictions. They are required to gut the deer, keep them in a cool place (not out in direct sun) and contact the Game Commission. The Game Commission will collect them as soon as possible. The local game warden that collects them has list of people interested in deer and is supposed to distribute them to those on the list. I don't know if that happens or not. The property owner is allowed to keep one deer and may keep another one as soon as the previous one is consumed. If you're friendly with your local game warden you could ask them about the programs. I get the impression they don't like to talk about it. They get a lot of complaints from neighbors surrounding this farm. This particular farm has killed over a hundred deer in the past year and there are still 40 to 60 deer in their fields every night. It seems to have no impact on the population. The local neighbors like to call and complain about it because they don't think doe hunting should be allowed.

It’s illegal in NY, but that doesn’t seem to stop some people, especially the Amish.

If you're referring to the Chippewa, they stole the land from the Sioux. Killed men, women, and children before they drove them into the Dakotas.
It was OK for them to steal the land, but not us?
