The tribes can do it here. They should have to use a birchbark canoe, torch and long bow….I don’t know how many actually take advantage of that part, but it’s not right. We only stole there land from them. You can't give em a little break?

Is it legal for farmers to shoot deer at night for crop damage here in PA? That's a question I'd like an answer to also. Local farmer near me shoots upwards of 100 every year. Game warden don't want to talk about it. Harrisburg don't want to talk about it.

Law use to be, yep. Haven't kept up on it lately.
You had to call warden within 24hrs and report. And make your living from the farm.

Reminds me of the Sneed story told by pat McManus. Guy shot a deer at night and got his buddies to help drag it uphill to the truck. Didn't want anyone to see their light so they were dragging in the dark. But halfway, they stopped to take a break when the one guy says " sure glad 4 of us are dragging this deer or we wouldn't make it". One of the other guys said in a shakey voice, " ain't supposed to be but three of us dragging this deer!" Then they heard the voice of Sneed the legendary game warden say, " ain't supposed to be nobody dragging this deer!" I think that's how it went.
When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

legal to use night vision and thermal now. it should be extended to deer.

You had to call warden within 24hrs and report. And make your living from the farm. I am not doubting you guys but I tried looking up the law or regulation that would state what you’s are saying and was unable to find anything. I am aware of, and have participated in, most of the crop damage programs the PGC has had over the last 20 or 30 years. None of them allow night hunting. The only state sanctioned night hunting that I am aware of is when they allow snipers with night vision to reduce deer populations in urban parks and such. Can either of you guys point me in the right direction to where I can find something about farmers being allowed to hunt at night? I’d like to keep up on this stuff.
Eh...wot?

It was OK for them to steal the land, but not us?
