I drive by a slough nearly every day which is where I caught the first beaver (actually two -same night) ever in 1973. It is all private access now and probably off limits to me. More houses too.
You ever trap the same spot you first ever laid steel? I kind of dream about it as a cool bucket list kind of thing now.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Going to trap a ditch this year that me and my buddy trapped when we were kids on bicycles. Major route and now there's a gas station where swamp land used to be.

I would love to but afraid I would get arrested. The traps were set in 1961 and the area is a strip mall now.

Not even possible for land traps all full of buildings business. Is large clinic built over spot I caught first red fox. Not sure about first water sets? Honestly don't recall where caught first muskrat. Might be condos now??

There is a bridge that crosses a small creek about a mile from where I grew up. My brother and I got into a colony of muskrats there when we were nine and 10 years old. We would ride our bikes down there to check our traps. I drive by there once in a while and sometimes I even stop and look down into the creek.
There haven’t been any muskrats there for decades. If I ever saw sign I would love to trap there again.
Eh...wot?

Every year. Same creeks and hills I trapped as a kid.

I still trap a portion of the line my Dad did when he was a young man.
I have nothing clever to put here.

It'd be possible but it's built up now.
