I was told today that good winter ‘rats could fetch $7 to $8 a copy. Anyone else hearing anything?

Tops or averages?
There will be NO $5.00 averages On rats this trapping season.

I'm starting on my ADC rat jobs on Monday. I jumped the price to $15.00 per rat and a $600.00 set up fee.

Some guys get pretty creative with how they calculate averages, so I'm sure there will be some $5 averages.

Wouldn't surprise me since we had such a dry summer and all the ponds dried up.

Several averaged over 5 late last year, in the country. Ok at best.

The more important aspect for me will the fall and xl rats follow the lead of the 3xxl winters and move say 25% or more or will there be a sizable drop off for large, xl and falls versus winters. With about 60% of my rats open water and 40% hard water I don't get much over 25% 2xland 3xl rats. I get a lot of xl rats. Last year for me grade was not a significant factor in average. As prices rise then maybe grade becomes a bigger factor.

I’d bet a Benjamin on that.
I averaged $6 on the nose on a couple hundred Missouri rats last year.
Buyer says he has a bigger order this year.

So all the rats you caught went for a $6.00 nose count.

I sold in DEC last year and got $2 each, oh well . Rats are building huts right now around here and we had a lot of rain and it looks like a lot of rats. I have nice big rats in the swamps here and access to a lot of them......jk

Dry here, if they were $100 average I doubt I could scratch double digits without driving all over the state. I think Dakota is dry as well.

No. I guess I wasn’t clear on that. My apologies.
He graded them. Was paying a $6.50 top. And they averaged $6 even.
