I bought one and set it up. But the pictures are terrible and hard to work with. Maybe I have to pay the $5 to get them in HD?

I've had good luck with them, but I'm not looking for super high quality pictures, just getting a general idea of where the animals are and movements. I was also pretty happy with the customer service, sent a new camera right away when one of mine wasn't working. Initial setup can be finicky, make sure you are using high quality mamory card and download the latest software update to the card. I am using the Link-Micros.

Night and motion photos aren’t great. Daylight isn’t bad. I have 10 of them going 24/7.

I’ve got one out, looking to buy some more when they go back on sale. The image quality isn’t great but I’m attributing that to the image being sent via cell network. Im interested in seeing the image when it’s taken straight from the camera card. [Linked Image]

You are correct on your thought. The one you get via the app is like a "thumbnail" image. A real pic is on the card.

Been using multiple spypoints for a few years now. I dig em. Almost zero cell service where I place them, so I run the external antennas and power with a lawnmower battery in an ammo can. Run them for over a year. +90 to -30 degrees, they work.

Price is right and they do what I need. I lose about one a year to bears, so a $400 Spartan is not an option..

One of my buddies has one set up. He’s been trying to get this late fall bear and has some good pics of the obese grizz

Here is a couple of pictures from my camera.

These pictures were from a non cell camera. I didn’t mean to hijack the thread, wanted to display the photo quality.

Man Oh Snap that is a good caribou picture how low did you have the camera? Must have been just above snow level.

Rusty Axe Camp: for the external antenna You just laddered up a tree until you got high enough to pick up a signal?

Good to know. I’m ok with the quality if I don’t have to spend the time and gas checking them all the time.

I’ve looked at the antennas myself too. A lot of the spots I’d like to put them have no cell service as well. Do you run the solar cameras at all?

Cut a 2-3" diameter tree, limbed it and zip tied it to that and leaned it next to tree cam is hooked to. Took me from zero service to 75-100%

10'-15' up.

You got me excited Rusty AXE I might order one of those antennas. Was that in a forested area? How far are you from the nearest tower?

I have a buddy in Minnesota that has them out on his property in Wisconsin - like 6 hours away. He can't be there all the time, but wants his intel. The spy point sends photos to his cell phone whenever something comes through. I think it is really handy, and a lot of fun for him. He shares the photos with me from time to time when a big whitetail comes through. The photos typically do the trick. Nothing great but about what you would expect.

No idea on nearest tower. Yes on forested.

Like I said, the antenna took it from no service to bouncing between 75-100% reception. My cell phone does not work at all at the spot, but with this antenna, the camera works fine. Not saying it's be the same for you, but that was my experience. I'd definitely give it a try.
