Hydropillar trapper H Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 2,958 South Dakota	I have never eaten a jackrabbit... my dad said they did in the 30 s but some of them had some kind of blisters under skin and unedible..... but i consider cottontails fine fare delicasy.... gonna go get me a pan full soon as snow flies !! The only place you find free cheese is in a mousetrap !

These are snowshoes, aren't they? I remember hunting them as a boy. They would blend in with the snow so well when they moved you could mostly just see that black eye bouncing along. Bushmaster OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 4,038 Alberta,Canada 71	Yes Trapper7, snowshoe rabbits. We used to have jackrabbits here but I haven't seen one in years....too many hawks and owls, which are protected. Every few years the snowshoes flourish and this is one of those years.
