You should go to an Amish bulk food store, Dave. I wouldn't be surprised if there is one close to you. I go to a bulk food store and they are fairly well stocked with good quality food.

I no longer keep track of increases. Just try to compare current pricing.

Well, I don't really either but when you fill up your truck one day at $2.65, the next trip at $2.95 and the last at $3.19.... you kind of tend to notice anyway.

Unless you eat trapline catches you should consider hunting, fishing and putting in a garden this spring.

How would you make it without snivilization? Get some onions, and carrots, some cabbage, dried beans, some rice and use coon as your meat and make some stew or what the kids used to call dad's gruel. Foods just not that expensive if you eliminate meat cost and buy fresh vegetables and and basic carbs. I love a big ole slab of bacon, but a man does what he has to do to survive and doesn't constantly whine about how tough life is in a country where most people can afford bad habits and hobbies. crazy
