9 fish last night. Biggest was 29 1/4".

I figure a 24" average.

I made sure my feet weren't in them, just for you!

And my face is in them just to make the fish look that much better by contrast!

How do you go about catching walleye at night if you don't mind me asking?Arkansas has some pretty good walleye fisheries that not alot of people know about because walleye fishing is not real popular down here.I have never really targeted them but I think it would be some really fun fishing to get into, especially at night.i love to night fish.especially in the warmer months around here to beat the heat and boat traffic.nice fish by the way! I caught one 27" one time in the Ouachita river on a limb line on accident flathead fishing lol

Without knowing your fishery exactly I will tell you what I do.

I fish at night because it gets dark at like 5 here in the fall, and I can actually get out after work, and I very rarely catch any small fish. We have a great population because of the native stocking (and spearing) program. You can see more about it in my video here:

Out here the fish start to stack up on humps in deep water in the 20-6' range. Scattered weed and rock.

It is as simple as trolling a bigger minnow type lure at 1.3-2mph. Something that dives 5-8 feet deep, and has a slow roll. Suspending lures help with the low speeds. Hot lures here are lucky craft pointer 128s, large saltwater X-raps, regular X-raps, and live target smelt in silver or white colors.

I have also caught them on big ol original rapalas.

Bigger lures, trolled dead slow and just make passes over humps, weed edges and structure. The fish will tell you where they are. I had one pass last night that was on the edge of a few humps and had 6 hits in about 200' of trolling. (they all missed, but thats the game sometimes.

My boat is all set up for night fishing, lights everywhere, and a really good chart plotter. I use the garmin 95 sv because the Garmins will actively map out structure as you drive. It pays to know exactly what each piece of structure looks like underwater, and having perfect accuracy is key.

I am doing a video on it eventually, and will post here.

Our water is incredibly clear, so not sure the night bite works everywhere, but let me know how it goes!

Beautiful fish. You are lucky you can keep them that size. Here we can only have one over 20" in possession. The rest have to be smaller.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Our limit here is one over 22.1", and one under 16", or two under 16", so actually pretty similar. The vast majority are catch and release.

Thanks Boco. Between deer hunting and walleye fishing, I am having trouble getting traps set! lol

Not a lot of incentive to trap hard early.

trapping on the bay through the ice can be tough. Thick ice around houses, etc.

I try and take a good part of my bay line quota out of a boat, but the rest can be done off snowmobile.
