Finally made the pilgrimage to Tom Parr’s place in Galloway Ohio and it was an awesome visit. It was good to finally meet Tom in person and he was a great host. This place should be on everyone’s bucket list - make sure you have at least a few hours to look around.

Always wanted to go and never made the trip yet I have a trap buying addiction. Going there would send it into overdrive. At least I wouldn't be able to buy anything there lol. Very cool

Those pictures are insane! Is there anything trap related he doesn’t have?? That place should be on every trap collectors bucket list. Thanks for posting.

There are around 4000 traps displayed to include part of Richard Gerstell’s collection and the Woodstream collection. There are several rooms, the Newhouse room (favorite), modern trap room, mouse trap room, etc. The huge Newhouse 999 trap built for display at the 1893 World’s Fair was one of the highlights. There is something interesting in every nook and cranny of the building and I’m sure it would take at least a couple more visits to see it all. Tom has done a great job putting the place together.

It was made for a display at a Worlds Fair, date is in his description with that photo. It wasn't actually made to use on anything.

Don't worry, Tom has loads of other traps I'm sure he'll sell you! grin

If here is something he doesn't have you'll be hard pressed to figure out what it is!

My wife and I stopped when his wife was still alive, she went and got pizza while we toured the place. I had some traps that were old and I couldn't find out what they were, Tom took a look and knew what they were, parts from this and that put together by a trapper to keep trappin'. One that I left with Tom was what he called a "transition trap" was a size 1 1/2 with teeth, he said it was a Newhouse/Hart! The place has grown a lot since that time---I'll never forget the welcome we received and his knowledge.
