Bet that smells wonderful.

Frankly I ain't got a problem with it other than I would think you might need to consider incineration for something like CWD.

You guys must have some really poor township ordinances or they are just looking the other way. Sure the DNR has some responsibility here but hunters, shooting deer just to stack them up in a dumpster does not put us in a good light either.

How many guys have the cooler or freezer space to hold them for the 3-4 weeks for test results to come back? You offered a[align:center][/align]n opinion, but not an alternative. Wolves are going to eat well around those dumpsters.

The test results Takes 10 days not 3 to 4 weeks.

Regardless, it's ecological biohazard and should be Burned.

I don't think burning kills the prions but yeah it may stop some animals from eating the carcasses.

You would think if the mn DNR could afford to spend $100,000.00 on removing 14 carp from the river they could do something with these deer.

The shirt was based on a video that went viral of guys drifting their cars on the ice in the middle of a huge frozen over lake. These guys are professional drivers from what I remember.

DNR officer comes up and says he's going to have to write them a ticket for reckless driving on a road even though they weren't technically on a road. The guy had a power trip for sure. That's what the shirt is based on

Where was that picture taken at? we've got dumpsters set up in my counties in WI as well but I've never seen anything like that. I have to say if you're just going hunting for the sake of killing or the horns don't go.
Obviously if you shoot a deer that looks sick don't eat it, that's common sense.
in WI we have the program where you can take deer to lockers that will then process them and donate them to food shelf. And yes some are in counties that have CWD. What a waste and a shame.

Isn't CWD in the soil anyway so it's not going away. I'm pretty sure I read that sometime back.

CWD isn't widespread here, but we do have a hot zone along the TN border. They increased the deer limit to 14 deer (from 8) in that zone. They just want the deer dead. Don't care what you do with them. Seems our DNR thinks reducing population is a key to fighting CWD?

Soil-bound Prions That Cause CWD Remain Infectious
Date:
April 14, 2006
Source:
University of Wisconsin-Madison
Summary:
Scientists have confirmed that prions, the mysterious proteins thought to cause chronic wasting disease (CWD) in deer, latch on tightly to certain minerals in soil and remain infectious.

I think this is what I read and there are other links I read when I just looked for it.
I don't know the technical crap but just so you guys in MN realize it isn't going anywhere. You can try and kill all the deer off in that area like the idiots in the DNR tried in WI and it's still here.

Exactly. Gives the antis a good argument when it comes to hunting.

Is the DNR not doing the exact same thing reducing deer numbers in many CWD areas will this not benefit the deer herds in the end? Top that with EHD issues and a dead deer is a dead deer should help both issues.

Maybe a few letters to the editor might help explain this to the none hunters because the judgements will do nothing to fix anything.
