Our deer opener is tomorrow. Lots of wind and rain mixed with snow most of the day today. Hope the wind lets up.

Nov 15 is etched in my mind forever shot my first deer in MI good times.

Grandson talked me into it again this year.

My daughter is 13 and she asked me to take her. She missed one during youth Hunt and she is looking for redemption. She is all practiced up now and sighted in. I bet she is up before me in the morning.

Northern mi on the north shores of Lake Superior we got around 4 inches snow last night inland, the lakeshore snow melted before it hit the ground. Deer are scarce and cat sightings are high, usually it’s wolves around here but they followed the deer south this past summer, now seeing wolverine here and there, i believe it’s related to the high numbers of turkey we had in recent years.

Maybe this one will show up again in the AM

Good luck everyone. We had the wind and snow today. Our opener is next saturday.

I will have a had time sleeping. My 15 year old son and I will be out. With any luck he will kill his 1st deer. There have been bucks running all over our property. I saw 2 from the house today. Good luck everyone!

Going to work, first opener in years I may miss...partially. I have 500+ acres at the mill, paved 5 more acres a few weeks back for log storage. Planted rye around edges for erosion. The deer are keeping it fresh mowed. So I have a popup out there. My crew voted to all work. When you got a good crew wanting to work you let them work. I will head out back after noon till dark. Don't see me hunting my own deer camp till after Thanksgiving. Good luck all my Michigan friends!!
