70 miles isn't very far - what's the typical range for whitetail deer? Do they typically stay in a 20 square mile area from when they are born to when they die? Or do they roam aimlessly?

Kill all the deer. Deer hunters are

Or do they roam aimlessly? around me the dnr guys say a vast majority spend their time in a small area of a couple square miles once they are established. but there are places in the state where they also historically had a habit of making pretty long migrations for food etc. the old timers in these parts talked about the deer moving off the ag land in late fall (during 30-70's) and going into traditional wintering type yards of swamps like the deer do further north in the state. ive never really seen that and about the farthest i see them move around me for food is 1-1.5 miles max as ag food is pretty available everywhere. there are quite a few river bottoms with public land in parts of the state where i've seen deer migrate from a long ways due to heavier hunting pressure but there just isnt much of any pressure on the private ground around these parts for more than a few days max. the local deer just go noctural and drop into the brush for a few days and then start to ease back out as the orange army subsidies. the biologists talk about the young ones wandering to find a home place. this past winter on crop damage permit we shot a buck that had dropped its antlers . it would have been 2 years old in a couple months in spring time. was radio collared in its first fall. over its first winter it made one trip about five miles south of where it was collared and stayed only short period of time. then moved nearly a dozen miles north of where it was collared and was there a short time before it returned to where originally captured. spent the summer in a real small area then in early fall moved about 15 miles north and this time stayed put. never ventured more than about 1 mile over course of 5 months and its bedroom in those months were in whats basically a subdivision. not sure if that is pretty normal or influenced by alot of factors that might be different in each area

Once again you guys can’t read but don’t care zone 1 in unlimited deer is that zone far west? when i lived down there we hunted some place west in the state and shot alot of does. the farmers where we hunted hated them about like they do around here. of course that was a long time ago and i'm sure deer numbers have changed some. it was pretty wide open flatter farm land; alot different than the country around mccreary, clinton, wayne, pulaski, russell counties. i cant recall the name of the town off hand but i do recall we went down around the end of the lake and west thru burkesville. there was a deer check station somewhere along the way that i remember we use to come thru on the way home but sorta think that was farther west towards glasgow.

Yes the farther west you go the more deer you see and can harvest.

What makes you think you're the answer to his problems? Do you think you can get it done? What's your plan when they dont show? It doesnt sound like a "slam-dunk" to me. Good luck. Those deer are SPOOKED! THIS is why I think I'm the answer. I know their patterns and where to look when pushed. lol lol lol Yes they are spooked to death by an 87 grain spitzer pushed by 44 grains of 4831
