I don't pull my pork.

Chopped your choice inside, inside outside or outside at your own risk.

For some durn reason these Georgians and Carolinians pull their's thinking sloppy joes and cue should have the same consistency.

And it's pork shoulder not butt.

Most folks do up a butt roast for a family cook because it's a smaller cut that you can get done in shorter time.

I was looking into a pellet smoker but read where in some situations the dust from the pellets settles on the meat. Also what is in the pellets is it real hardwood or is it plywood ground up with added essential oils and glue? I’m definitely in the market for a good smoker but I haven’t been able to make a decision yet. Plus they’re not exactly cheap

Really ? About 1/3 the cost of propane or charcoal Pit boss the dust can’t get to the meat or ash First it burns almost completely
I’ll cook about 20-30 hours out of a20 lb bag $8:56 at Walmart

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, But Char-griller is a decent side box smoker, and can be used as a grill for steaks, chops, etc. I'm on my third one, mostly because of moves. They are cheap enough it doesn't hurt so bad to leave it behind, about $200. But, they can do the job. Charcoal and wood chunks for heat and smoke, you can do up to 3 brisket at a time, or 4-6 full racks of ribs, depending on how you stack them.

It can hold its temperature very well for about 4 hours without messing with it, the key is to fill the side box with charcoal (ideally in a basket) and dump half a chimney of hot coals on top, closest to the grill top, away from the air inflow. Shut the inflow down to almost full shut and it holds at about 230, rolling smoke as long as you keep wood chunks in it. No cords, no electricity, no pellets to get moldy, caked, stuck, or run out of.

I'm on my second. Looking to upgrade to a little thicker gauge metal and capacity without going full custom.

Get yourself a big steel keg, it’s a lump charcoal smoker/ grill and it’s the best
Decision I ever made. I Had electric, propane, pellet.
NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO REAl WOOD AND CHARCOAL..
I do my own bacon, hams, Fish, pork butts and can grill steaks with it at
800 degrees. Just need lump charcoal and hunks of whatever wood you prefer.

I have an Oklahoma Joe smoker. Mine has the side fire box (which you can smoke on if higher Temps are needed or a quick meal) then in the center is the smoke chamber, and then on the right is a propane grill for simple grilling.
I use charcoal and chunk wood on my smoker. I love it. No complaints.

So i bought a pit boss 820 yeaterday becuse it was a good price. Took it home fired it to burn off oils per directions. Fired it back up a few hrs later and put some deer quarters on. Left came back an hr latter and it was cold and had a lo2 error code. Called pit boss tooke several min but she said it needed a new computer controle board. BUT THEY WILL COVER THAT AND SEND ME ONE AT NO CHARGE UNDER WARRANTY. It will only take 2 days. Really no kidding man in so luckey you would cover that under warranty on the new smoker that did not function the first time.

I called acadmey they returned it and I got an Oklahoma Joe instead even got some extras and $8 back. At least there is little to nothing that can go wrong with this one. Hope i like it.
