“As the chill air of late fog descends, animals begin to prepare their dens for the deep freeze of winter.
Beavers can be seen along the banks of rivers and streams, collecting wood to shore up their lodges and dams before the ice sets in. This was also the time Native American tribes and later European settlers set beaver traps to ensure a supply of warm furs for winter.
Thus November’s full moon is most commonly known as the Beaver Moon, in honor of these industrious semi-aquatic rodents.
Because November also signals the time when bitter hard frost’s become more frequent, this month’s moon is also sometimes called the Frost Moon.

I'm gonna try to see it, like you if I happen to get awake.
Suppose to start around 2am and finish/peak around 4am here. (Eastern time)

They’re calling it a beaver moon, pretty cool. i see that.... trying to read why they are calling it a beaver moon... November's full moon has been called the Beaver Moon for centuries. The full moon of each month has it's own name. October is the Hunter Moon or every three years the Harvest Moon, December is the Cold Moon, etc.
Eh...wot?

It was overcast but bright, and windy. The sky cleared, bright, and NO wind. Moon started it's thing. Now dark and wind.
I'm like Wamp. I predict deer and thin skin critters will be on their feet in day light.

Over cast here too. I could here the rain on the roof in the wee hours so didn't bother getting up to go look. I did get this picture of the Beaver Moon setting though.
