Getting a couple trail cams at Christmas. Going to go with Browning dark ops. Any model recommendations? Deer and coyotes. Thanks

Been running browning dark ops for a few years now. They have done well. These are stills I pulled from videos shot a week or so ago. Need to reset the date though. Lol

I use browning dark ops also. Doesn't spook coyotes but it gets triggered easily if wind is moving tall grass or weeds but it does miss a few more coyotes at test sets than I would like. Had one set over a set that I caught a coyote in last night. 80' detection range set within 50' of set. Couple videos of weeds in wind during day time two videos of me walking up to set but zero videos of caught coyote. But browning is the best I've used so far.

I also have a browning black ops trail camera. I got it for Christmas last year. Cabelas sent it in the mail when I didn’t order it. So I got it for free. I probably wouldn’t have bought it because of the price. It’s the most expensive model. That being said, I absolutely love it. I’ve ran cheap cameras for years and this one blows them away. Also I have a 40$ tasco camera that I left up all year. After one year, it was still taking pictures. The photo quality isn’t great but for 40$ you can’t go wrong.

I just searched, that same model is in the top Five. I have 4 of them in the woods right now, and honestly for the price, they are a good camera. A while back I found them on sale, $100 each. Crisp clean pictures, very good battery life and simple to use.

But I have them scattered out, about 10 miles from my first camera to the last one. But they've held up very well. Check them out and read the reviews before you buy.

I have 2 of those. Good dependable cameras for deer but spooked too many coyotes for me. Think they make too much lens movement noise. Had too many deer come up to see what was going on and lots of coons climbing tree to see what the noise was.

No, you're thinking about some other kind of camera. There is no lens movement or noise with the Stealth Cam.

I've got 4 or 5 consecutive pictures of the same bobcat, just doing it's thing. Same with coyotes and bear. There is no noise.

Check the trigger speed, IR range, megapixels and all, compared to other cameras.

U right mine is a G45NG. My understanding is there is a lens/filter something in most trail cameras that moves for the night pics. Some are more quite than others. That is my understanding based on some information someone that seemed to have more knowledge than me had shared with me. I will say bobcats react to cameras much less than coyotes. Don't know the difference between a G42 and G45 but they do hear a noise with the G45. I can't but the critters can.

Is the G42 single lens? I'm think it is.

When you have animals coming up to point blank range in night photos it's normally because of the noise

I've had multiple pictures of fox, coyotes, coon and bear. Didn't seem to spook anything? I mean a lot of those pictures are just on trails and such.

One of my best spots is at a little mountain spring. My opinion, the camera doesn't make any sound. If it does, the critters don't seem to notice it.

Years ago, the first trail cam that I tried, it had a white flash, and it would spook game. Ate batteries like nobody's business, and weighed 5 pounds.

The Stealth cams that I mentioned above are small, no glow flash, and get very good mileage from a set of 8 AA batteries.

They'll do some fancy stuff, videos and all. I'll tell you when you've got 4 cameras working, getting from a couple to 20 or more pictures per day. A feller would need to take off 2 days per week to just view the videos. I have my cameras set where I'll get a pic every 30 seconds. And it takes a while to look at 2 weeks worth of pics. It takes me 45 minutes to drive to my first camera, and a 20 minute walk to get to the Spring Cam. I don't check them everyday.

I’ve ran scout gaurds, gardepro e5s and browning dark ops. Never had a problem with close yotes. Filmed 100s.
