What are y'all using to anchor when wanting in dams and in beaver swamps ? Figured a 30" pogo would be good but came up on one of my snares and it's gone so looking for some suggestions

Are we to assume you mean with footholds?

I use 36 inch berks, sometimes need two at different angles.Or enough extension cables to reach trees, or put on drowning cables, Sarge

Getting old is a fatal mistake

Always looking for reloading componets

I know a beaver or two, because I've seen a beaver or two

I make up some 4-5ft long cables for the stakes and drive em in as far as you can. Make sure they set. Sometimes they'll come up a few feet before the set. Wider or longer the body of the disposable the better.

Usually plenty of "that ain't never going to move" logs to cable off to around beaver dams in my experience.

Just happy to be here.

I grab a sound dry 4 foot pole about an inch and a half diameter out of the dam, point the end with a couple swipes with a brush axe,tie off the snare extension at the bottom and drive it in solid.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Ive done this too..here in these Ga swamps...works well.

Most snares are anchored to a 6" or 8" tree...cinch cable extention to tree underwater.
