Got 6 of them vintage Beaver Dams

I like to collect vintage traps and tune them up …and fish with them.

I got out yesterday also in NE South Dakota. Lake of choice had only shaky 2.5 inches of ice so we fished two other nearby lakes for a few northerns and perch and a single walleye.

Fished Red lake, northern Minnesota the last few days with my dad and brother. Walleyes bit well. Jigging and set lines both produced. 7-8" ice

It would make sense that a Beaver Dam tip up wouldn't worry as much about being tall or seeing the flag from a mile.

the WIS Wardens of the past would write you up for being too far from a tip up , if you couldn't beat them too it you were too far , if you were off the ice on land you were really too far

you are also only allowed 3 lines be they tip ups or pole 3 is it

I don't think they ever set specific distance , 100 yards max was kicked around at some spring hearings years ago and they meant it as if you had 3 lines the farthest you could be at any time from any other line

Deerfly, those Eyes appear to be 14-16 inch fish. That is my favorite size to eat with 14 being ideal.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I've never heard anything about this or like this. Weird. Things must really be different in your part of the state.

oh there are some good stories about our old warden Jill she liked to sneak up on people

my neighbor had a friend who was out tossing sticks in the river for his dog , she snuck up and accused him of fishing with out a licenses , he denied fishing , she searched up and down the bank for 30 minutes looking for were he had hidden his rod. when she couldn't find it she came over in a huff , well you got away with it this time but I will be back and I will catch you.

so he opened his wallet and pulled out his fishing license , said I wasn't fishing , but I do have a license , I just wasn't fishing today.

I never actually had a run in with her

There’s probably going to be 24+ inches at my spot when I finally get out to my camp. I’ll still have to fish for at least a couple hours for bait. Inconnu, pike and burbut. Probably get a bunch in the 20-30 pound range. Any body ever finds their way up north I’ll take you out fishing.

I got 3 Beaver Dams that I've had for at least 15 years. They have gotten really spendy now.

we had ice starting but with this rain... it will be awhile now i think still. another month. Wish we could have a solid winter of good ice fishing for a change. Then the time and money to spend would be worth it to ice fish.
