I bought a 98 s 10 4x4 with power windows and locks for my daughter from a friend. It has a new jasper rebuilt motor, the transmition was rebuilt and i got it for less than he paid to have that work alone done. Amazing the deals you find when some one gets news of a suprise baby on the way.

So its old and still needs a few things mainly the drivers inside door pannel is broken and makes it hard to shut the door and I worry about the wires getting messed up fore the windows and locks. It needs head lights they point at the ground and the plastic to adjust them is broke so new parts are in order.

The 4x4 will only go into low and only after messing with the dash buttons for a while. Once i figure out the cause of that new parts will be in order.

Mechanical parts are easy to find but the door panal is a challange. Does anyone have sugestions on where i should look to find parts ilke these. The center console arm rest top could also be replaced if i can find one but its not causing an operating problem so not a major issue at this point.

Mpg sucks at 15.4 but its a nice clean truck esp for its age. It body looks only a few years old

I had a 98 S10 ZR2. Was the worst vehicle I've ever owned to date. Nice you got a new tranny and engine though. I do remember the door parts kept breaking. I wish you luck.

4wd actuator is a common problem.
I think yours has two, 1 on front punkin, 1 on transfer case.
Easy to remove, take to a good tech for test, buy it there.
$100 each.
Rock auto dotcom is a helpful reference at times.

any junk yards near you , the old type where you go out and take the parts off yourself?

we have one here that has S-10 hill it's a walk but it is about an acer of S10 and s10 blazers

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I had an 87 S10 they were notorious for rusting out. At least the ones here in our heavily salted road state did.

If you're handy you might get away with cleaning the actuators mentioned above. But really is easier to replace them if you have to take them out anyway.

When you replace the door panel, be sure to check the door alignment. The hinge pin bushings were very common to wear out on those trucks. When they wear out, the door will sag, causing the owner to slam the door to get it to close.

Check the gear ratio, with the low mileage, there's a good chance it may have 3.73 or even 4.10 gears.

E bay shows nothing in the correct size or color with power. There was one with crank windows the wrong side or color. Called salvage yards with no luck. I dont have face book so may have to have the wife check there. Off to search national auto parts.

I did not know this Law Dog.
Do they overfill your mail?

I get Moog and ac Delco there some, but avoid the off cheap brands,
Fuel tank, sender, pump, line and straps $100 cheaper.
SAME part #.

Not really every 4-6 months a close out pops up if you save the link it’s good until the items are gone. It has options, often multiple choices on many items brand names also. I rebuilt a few D 50 rather cheap using the close out sales.

Classic industries used to send me a catalog every year of just about any part you need for an s-10. I’ve built a few over the years. Back when obummer did the cash for clunkers, they were all over the junkyards.
