4wd actuator is a common problem. I think yours has two, 1 on front punkin, 1 on transfer case. Easy to remove, take to a good tech for test, buy it there. $100 each. Rock auto dotcom is a helpful reference at times.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Rock auto dotcom is a helpful reference at times. I had an 87 S10 they were notorious for rusting out. At least the ones here in our heavily salted road state did. If you're handy you might get away with cleaning the actuators mentioned above. But really is easier to replace them if you have to take them out anyway. Mac

I had a 98 S10 ZR2. Was the worst vehicle I've ever owned to date. Nice you got a new tranny and engine though. I do remember the door parts kept breaking. I wish you luck. s-10.... loved mine!! zr2 model i guess is similar but never had one

Mac totally... rust on the bottom of the wheel wells for me.

This also if you register your vehicle they will send you close out list of discounted parts to rebuild a vehicle I get lists often on a lot of parts.

I did not know this Law Dog. Do they overfill your mail?
I get Moog and ac Delco there some, but avoid the off cheap brands, Fuel tank, sender, pump, line and straps $100 cheaper. SAME part #.

Not really every 4-6 months a close out pops up if you save the link it’s good until the items are gone. It has options, often multiple choices on many items brand names also. I rebuilt a few D 50 rather cheap using the close out sales.
