Yup old trucks and old dogs sure bring back the memories.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

^^^^^ It was amazing what we were able to do before 4x4 became common place. That’s how we honed our Wintah driving skills !

Somewhere I have a pic of my '68 Dodge coronet with three on the column. My first trapping vehicle.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Had the ‘69 Impala on the ice….1978-79 You would be surprised at how many trucks and cars I pulled out of where they were stuck wit just an old Ford 150 with big lug snow tires . One wheel drive too . The best was all the 4 wheel drive trucks , that got stuck on wet grass . I still love those big lug snow tires , compared to the all weather tires .
We have met the enemy and the enemy is us!

Our farm truck was a '70 F150. It had a 3 speed on the column that broke so dad installed a shifter on the floor. That broke so he just removed it. We had a hole in the floor where the shifter used to be and you had to use a tire iron to move the two levers on top of the transmission to shift. I learned to drive in that truck. Clutch > move right lever forward > Clutch > move right lever to middle and left lever backward > clutch move left lever forward.
By the time I was old enough to date he had bought a 1980 F150 with a push button AM radio, no rear bumper (bumpers were an option), and no AC. Fortunately I never dated a rich girl - or maybe the truck was the reason I never dated a rich girl.
