I have the same thoughts but it’s so rare in this breed it’s just plane old bad luck.

Dogs touch your heart in many ways, Brad! Sorry to hear of your troubles, and life is always filled with troubles. My sister called this afternoon, and my BIL is not long of the world, so it is always something. It has been expected for over a year. Loseing a dog or member of the family (one and the same) always seems harder when it is sudden or a surprise. I wish you the best bud!

Children werent in the cards for us, but neither was losing
a couple dogs prematurely due to no fault of their's or ours.
It's so hard to get over them anytime, even if you didnt know them that long.
I would suggest not forcing it, but do it when it feels right.
The right one will fall in.
