Usally have 2 pr on hand for trapping, still use old cheapy boots yet an not broke out new pr cheapy boots I got last summer but old boots maybe leak soon, still have pr Dan's heavy ins boots ready go with maybe half tread for cold weather , very few traps out start today for the first an mid part week anyhow , so got 2 pair cold creek gauntlets with shoulder strap insulated , this morning I see common wear place , between thumb an first finger, small hole, common place for gloves to wear so got new pr out for tomma, should start use tongs for 110 s to set them so easier on gloves ? The other new pr got 4 weeks of fairly heavy use bfore hole , not extremely heavy like long liner or they last few days , not really a way patch them so anyone recommend good gauntlets with shoulder strap

They all get a hole there from constant flexing. Smear some goop on them and keep a tube handy. Or go commando like I do I cant get a thing done with them bulky things on. Ya but water come in an cold is no good, I can't get them on hands when soak, , never had success patch them , any really good pairs with shoulder strap in market ? Someone say no bs brand but I see u got put sealant on seams? Noway I get anything like that, that sealant is almost worthless , it hold for about a trap or 2, cold creek brand is ok but I have got 2pair in past factory defect

Coonman,
I'm going to help you out but you probably won't listen. Unless you are constantly going over your elbow, just use the elbow length gloves. They run about $6.00 a pair at the conventions. Much better than paying $40 to $50.00 a pair for the shoulder length gloves. You poke a hole in them, throw them away and grab another pair. Sterling Fur sells the Edmont Wilson B grade gloves that I use. I stock up at the convention, so I don't know what they cost to have them shipped. I haven't put a hole in my gauntlets in years because I hardly use them unless beaver trapping and even then I can get away with the elbow length gloves most places.

I need longer ones, shoulder long as especally need it on footholds at end slider on terminal end stake , this season it has not much but need long gloves for deeper submerge connibears , not lot fun to take off coat an roll up sleeves an reach cold water an try pull slider up with a catch or trap wrap around deep end stake an untangle , edmont Wilson , dont have shoulder strap , thought a better pair them cold creek, but try bunch brands, gripper was ok but kept sag down with no shoulder strap an really get ur temper flare up when feel cold water run down inside from get end gloves in water, polar paws , don't like bright red color an poor success them with leaks , another brand , bemac ins gauntlets where similar to cold creek brand but not quite as good, all made in china, they make them fast in factory , have seen stitching on gloves all screw up from factory when new

Noway I agree with that, gloves last 4-5 seasons of hard use , noway no how for anyone , u have never try it, 31 inch long gauntlets is what want , just look for options on brands , I try look no bs gauntlets , not sure if only ones had that u got seal seams or what , I thought there other brand no bs had , at my one job, sometimes I go thru 2 pairs leather gloves in 5 hrs, at best , 3 days but rarely, often every day an hate drag o g oil soak gloves to prove u had them as if Throw away , an don't take home u for next day, u can be charge $5 , but this is for something different , no gauntlet well last u 2 seasons of heavy use, I had rate occasion, a pair last into 2 ND season

Maybe that's the problem with your gloves?
