If you are going to put them up yet this year, they'll be fine.

They'll be good. I try to clean out the black hole twice a year, 6 months is no problem.

Should be fine. Is there a reason why not take the couple minutes each to skin? Saving carcass for bait or something?

To tired an don't feel like skin rats an mink an room in freezer , so dry wet fur on carcass an freeze , save some of rat carcass for bait, still have some from last season frozen for bait, only thing I have against it, is frozen rat claws are razor sharp

Take a side cutters and cut the feet off before you freeze them.

Well then cut the front feet off and the toenails on the back.

Small animals frozen whole-I would not let go more then 6 weeks in the deepfreeze-they will get frost dried around the head. Not a huge deal to wreck the head when skinning. The rest of the pelt will be good for longer.Might lose a size grade.
Fat coonhides, could keep for several months without risk of freezerburn causing any issues with handling. The only small animals I will freeze for a few days are ones that are frozen already in the trap.Like weasels, marten, squirrels etc.

Rats frozen whole then thawed are messy to skin.

It is one thing if you have 50+ rats to skin, but 5-10, if they are dry they are getting skinned and put on stretchers. I hate rats after in the freezer.

I put up several hundred rats for a person one year, several years ago. All were frozen whole and I thawed them, skinned and put on forms. They took twice as long as fresh rats and many just fall apart when skinning. I will refrigerate a few rats if too many before I freeze them whole anymore. Coons I have folded in half with heads and tails in the pelt and they keep well. Never froze a whole coon or mink. Did a fox for a guy one time and that was not a good experience either.

You post like it is your first week trapping Dave.

Do you do this to bring up subjects or questions new trappers might be afraid of asking?

Honest question.

First week of November was a month before your post on December 5th.
