I don't care for it, I can't spread my hand open enough to get 160's set unless I pull the gauntlet up every time. I usually get frustrated, roll my sleeves up and go barehanded. Makes the gloves last longer.

I think most gauntlets are made in factories that only use PT or temp help. Maybe that's the problem with your gloves?

Wow.

I don't recall anyone that wears out gauntlets and waders any faster than coonman220.

I've only ever had one pair leak at what I considered prematurely. The ones I liked the best I bought from F&T and were Wells Lamontes. Had 4-5 sets in my time and only the one seeped some water after a couple weeks use.

Polar paws and cheap yellow ones from TSC were ok also.

I get mine from harbor freight, believe last time i bought they were $8-10/pair. I can usually get a couple years out of a pair

That's where I got my last ones , think 3 pair for way less than the shoulder length trapper gloves .
Just limited my sets to shallower sets .
Still have two pair never used .
That was 12 years ago .

Or you’re buying junk?

Pay a little and get a better glove.

What is good 'goop' to use to fix a leak in them?

Shoe Goo, and I use cheapo Jersey gloves inside mine, far superior insulation than leather.
