Hennepin County Minnesota, which is largley Minneapolis, elected a new Sherrif to replace the establishment type guy in the midst of the anti law enforcement frenzy following the George Floyd incident

The new top law enforcement guy is a fat gay MetroTransit cop.

So he goes to law enforcement convention across state. He heads back, drunk (.13 Blood Alcohol) rolls a county owned vehicle, while carrying a pistol. He is now facing four charges from the State Patrol including driving and carrying under the influence.

As an elected official, as such can't be fired or disciplined like an employee would be.

Funny thing is due to his liberal profile, there is hardly a peep even from the local media

Doesn't matter whether he's elected or not. He can be fired and charged with several violations including malfeasance in office which in many cases is a felony.

No sir he cannot be fired. Recalled, maybe. As for the rest of it....With Keith Ellison as the Attorney General, I doubt it as well.

It is a lot more than wording. A firing is a simple one person, or small council executive decision. This guy needs a majority of voters to get the boot.

Realistically, at one time we might have expected him to voluntarily retire. We'll see. Maybe, we really need a Sheriff that can't drive or carry a gun in our new woke society.

Why should I know that? You think I made my living going after misconduct in office?

I guess like me, he'd figured it would have been something gone over in law school?

My apologies, I have assumed via many of your previous posts that you had a Law Degree / background. Again, sorry.
PS, I should have thought about the "analogy" of the word "assumed" is . . . my bad :-)

I'm supposed to recall what I learned in law school forty years ago?

All I know is that voters or the legislature or assembly can usually impeach elected officials guilty of malfeasance in office.

Anyway, it's a matter of local or state law.

I went to school in Ohio, and learned Ohio law. We didn't study Minnesota's impeachment procedures.

Supposedly in Minnesota first time offenders seldom lose job or do jail time.

Interesting comment. I mean, I remember most, if not all, of what I learned in college 20 years ago. When did you begin to forget the things you learned in college? Should I expect everything I learned to start fading from my memory shortly?

Is losing your knowledge a normal thing to have happen before something like dementia riddles your mind?

Love Schultz. . . . he was the pre-war owner of a toy manufacturing company. Watch Hogan's Heros often. :-)
