Interesting comment. I mean, I remember most, if not all, of what I learned in college 20 years ago. When did you begin to forget the things you learned in college? Should I expect everything I learned to start fading from my memory shortly?

Is losing your knowledge a normal thing to have happen before something like dementia riddles your mind?

You must have missed the post where I said I'd never studied MN law.

Anyway, if you have that good a memory and intellect, you should have made something of yourself.

Yotetrapper30, you have a lot to learn about forgetfulness, lol. See my signature at the end of my posts.

Maybe he did all this intentionally with hopes of going to jail to make new "friends".

I have nothing clever to put here.

It's Hennepin county. There's literally zero consequences for car jackers, armed robbers, drug dealers (high and low end) murderers and anyone that wants to burn the city . Now we are upset that nothing will happen to a guy who got drunk and rolled is ride? Yeah, good one! Sheese, the lead county attorney fell off the wagon not too long ago (drunk in a car) and had to go to spin dry. Not a peep. So this surprisedsanyone? It's Hennepin county (Minneapolis) for good grief.

I can tell you from lots of experience there. The corruption is at the TOP and poo runs down hill. All you have to do it look at city council.

It's like being mad at the devil for running hades. Duh!

Why? So I can donate 1/3 of my money to those too lazy to work or the criminals flooding over the border? No thanks. I was well on my way towards becoming a career woman when I decided I enjoyed life too much to squander it in pursuit of wealth. I guess you can just call me John Galt. I MUCH prefer selling tomatoes for $8/hr than working 9-5 every day for 6 figures.

Some would say "To whom much is given, much is required." We all make our own choices in life, but squandering a talent because others might gain from its use seems selfish to me. I prefer to view gaining wealth from using talent to it's fullest as a side benefit to making a contribution to society, not a sole reason for doing it.

When your dying, if you have time/ability to reflect, I am sure we will all have some regrets. I am also sure I wont regret the time I spent living rather than chasing dollars.

Danny, for sure there can be a balance.

There are very few to any John Galt types left. The system has corrupted everyone in some sense.

Nope. misdemeanors.

This guy is the top law enforcement officer in the most populous county in the state. I don't think the standard legal ramifications fit the situation. in this case, it is all about image. Why would anyone follow the laws if the enforcers don't.

BTW, he is a regular visitor to the Hennepin County jail.

Selfish? Who decides what is selfish and what's not? Was it selfish of me to go to work for a Marine veteran farmer/preacher and his wife when they needed help on their farm and couldn't find anyone? By the time I took out taxes and gas I was making less than $100 a week but I felt good that I was helping them. It's selfish of me to want to spend as much time as I can with my husband since I am able to do so without working 40+ hours a week? I'm sure I will again work full time but I will NEVER work more than I need to work to get by. I have no children to leave money to, and I can't take it with me. If working for the sole purpose of subsistence is selfish, then okay, call me selfish... I'm fine with that.

The sheriff is in a protected class. Due to his sexual orientation. Also if he is a first time offender for DUI. He will claim he has an addiction problem. That protects him as well. He will can and should be charged with DUI, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, etc... As far as loosing his job. I highly doubt it. The city would open themselves up to a civil lawsuit. Like it or not. This is the world we are living in today.

Our AG killed a guy walking on the side of the road one night last year coming back from a meeting he thought he hit a deer he said. They found the body the next day, who hits a deer and does not confirm it’s dead? He got off with 2 minor charges and is still our AG after a failed impeachment attempt.

You miss the point, Yote, which was not to tell you to go make big money. I'm talking about a job that challenges and interests you, one that is worthy of your towering intellect and memory.

If you remember most, if not all of what you were taught in college twenty years ago, that is an extraordinary achievement, unique in my experience. Most people will say that decades later they forgot most, if not all of what they learned in college. Unless what they learned has a direct bearing on their work.

I'm not telling you to get a high-paying job so you can pay taxes and help the poor, just one that will give you enough interesting work so that you don't look for amusement by harassing poor forgetful ex-lawyers on the internet. lol
