I bought another snowblower off Facebook to fix and sell. It's got these things on ends of axle. Don't have much experience with snow blowers so I have no idea what it is. Maybe a way to attach weights? Thanks

I’m guessing it does not turn when the wheel turns. If so, maybe it keeps snow from building up inside wheel??? Just a guess.

I've never seen that, but that was my guess also.

I would also guess it is to keep the snow from packing in the wheels

Positraction lock in/out. Turn it clockwise to lock that wheel so it turns with the other. Counterclockwise frees up that wheel so the blower becomes easier to steer and turn under certain conditions.

Actually if it turns with the wheel like it looks like it would. Having thrown chains off several different types vehicles myself..
I would probably put a short spring or bungee around it use it as chain tensioner holder. I can see that picture in my mind.
I usually just cross two bungee make X

No, no, no. It's the optional electric cord winder 8nstead of wrapping up that unseen electrical cord into the auger.

I don't know what's going on here. The star thing is the actual nut that holds the tire on. The other side has nothing on it. I can't decide if it's a homemade deal or commercially made. If homemade, they did a good job as it's very symmetrical as far as the corners and bends go. I done the carb work and it's back for sale but I may take some cover plates off to see what's inside. I have no idea the year but it's the oldest I've worked on.

P.s. I knew right away it was a pig castration device of some sort, but thought I may could use it for something else as well? Lol

Yep. I found threads of folks discussing it. I don't fully understand how it works but I could see the benefit for some folks as it is a heavy machine. I'm gonna have to make sure it works......I think the price just went up. Lol. Thanks folks
