From a guy who has had a shoulder re-built…. Beretta A-400. I’ve shot a ton of 12 gauge autos of different brands and found these to be awesome.

Stoeger M3500 seems to be the popular budget piece in that category. Made under the benelli corporate umbrella as a turkish(?) copy of the benelli inertia action. Plenty of aftermarket parts available for the competition shooters.

My benelli super black eagle hardly kicks in my opinion. 3 1/2 heavy payload of lead through a turkey choke it’ll bite a little. Love the gun and the inertia system. Won’t ever shoot anything else.

Beretta with a “Kickoff” system. My uncle has shoulder problems, and is an avid waterfowler. He loves it and shoots the gun great. I shoot the A300 Beretta myself, it’s a great gun as well. These hold up in a harsh salt water environments.

all things being equal a gas operated will kick less than an inertia. a heavier gun will soak up more of the recoil, and don't forget proper fit plays a big role in felt recoil. after you address those issues the gun itself is up to what you like, if you ask 100 guys what you should buy you will likely get 100 different answers. I have a winchester super x3 that's never let me down and has seen A LOT of abuse.

I had a completely severed rotator cuff and bicep relocation a few years ago. I shoot a Winchester SX4 without any problems.

I'm itchin' to see a coyote twitchin'.

More trappin' and less yappin'.

That sounds like real world advise.. I bought the A-400 for the wife because of the recoil mitigation system on them, I use it for waterfowl and I shoot it well..it's a smooth shooter. I shoot Benelli's too, no complaints there either.

No to the h and r turkey single shot in 3.5. That one stings a little. Yes to a benelli or franchi semi. Personally id go franchi but if money is no option, if go benelli.

I’ll say it since no one else will 3 1/2 in 12 gauge and don’t kick a lot can’t be used in the same sentence!
Don’t care how many x’s or l’s the brand has in its name 3 1/2 in hurt

Now you may not feel it at the time your shooting game but pattern it or hunt and feel it the next day !
