If 20 inches of snow wasn't enough,we are in for heavy thunderstorms, straight line winds from 60 to 80 MPH,and a cnaNCE OF THE FIRST EVER,Minnesota tornadoe in December.
It is a balmy 55 degrees right now,but the shoe is set to drop--starting in a few hours. I am making ice and have moved the vehicles away fro any trees--as much as I could.
They are expecting a lot of downed trees and loss of power. I am trying to prepare for whatever comes. High temp tomorrow, mid 20s.
Kind of reminds me of the big Armistice day storm that killed so many duck hunters.

We're only getting up to 50 mph or so today but have those 80+ storms before. That blew down trees all over town but surprisingly most survived.
Hope you all stay safe. Looks like it's blowing up a bit in NE right now and big winds after the tornados.
Take cover if you need to.
Winds have been ferocious in Colorado today as well.

Everything is moving fast so keep an ear out for warnings, good luck.

Latest I read--winds could hit 100MPH south of us. Sounds like--no sleep tonight. They also said the storm is moving so fast,if a warning is sounded-head immediately to the basement. The normal 12 minutes leeway time, does not exist with this storm.
Our sun is now gone as the clouds move in. Still in the 50s and --dead calm.

70 down here in Central Iowa. Clouds really moving in and a little bit of moisture starting to blow around. Sure hope this has been over hyped.

That front came through here and dumped snow , moved on fast over the divide and on east. Always high winds with those fronts too, especially east of the divide. Temps dropping to below 0 here in the next day or so along with another region wide front that will bring more snow, and head your way. The cool temps are supposed to stay , which is good.

It is that unseasonable warm air with these fronts that is nailing the Midwestern to eastern states.

Be safe, everyone. Sleep lightly.

Charging cell phones gathering flashlights and filling up buckets of water when I get home from work. If everyone is right this could be a rough night.
