cereal grains are fine as long as you work them off each day and that just isn't happening when one 20 ounce coke is 130% of your daily sugar never mind they keep your glass full most any where you eat easy to go 500-1000% of daily sugar in one meal at many places.

and feel hungry again in an hour

fat doesn't make fat that was a lie they sold you to keep you eating the real fat maker AKA sugar also know as carbohydrates and cereal grains , puts the fat on you the same as it fattens up that steer

I look at it this way , you only have so much time on this earth .
No one knows how long , no matter how you try to protect yourself .
If you like grain fed beef , or grass fed beef , doesn't matter .
EAT !
Somethings going to end your life no matter how you live it .
ENJOY THE TIME YOU HAVE !
You like something to eat , enjoy it .
Known many people that lived into their 90's and ate bacon bread , hard bread , with bacon grease dripped on it , ( never understood why it had to be over an open fire on a stick to fry the bacon chunks , instead of in a pan .)_ but eat and enjoy your life as you see fit , because tomorrow isn't a fact .

Way to many people are willing to slap a grassfed label on an old cow . That meat isn't much different than the 90+%lean crap that many of them have been eating for years . I like old cow burger myself its what we ate we sold the good stuff . It is possible to raise good grass finished beef ,but you can't finish one on an over grased pasture .

grass fed and grass finished are not the same as grass fed and corn finished.

I have posted on this topic before... it is my opinion a true grass fattened beef is vary seldom produced and most people havent had the pleasure of eating it ... it requires a 2 1/2 plus up to 4 yr old animal.... has to be raised in a area that has high protein hard grass.... here in eastern south dakota im not sure its possible!!! i did a job for a friend west river that had buchered a toad fat to the heart roly poly grass fat barren heiffer finneshed on hard buffalo grass.... man im tellin ya yes taste is different.... but i love it and preffer it over corn fat... not to say corn fat isnt good.... we had a feedlot operator here that always finished his cattle on 15%barley ration last 90 days... said ya needed the barley to get the hard white fat!! id eat a grass fat but its just not available...... grass fed... cow meat ... i was raised on it... its ok but not mouth watering.... we had a fence crawler grandpa always shot at her with the shotgun to get her to jump back in... we butchered her.... mom couldnt serve beef when company came as ya had to spit out a bb once in a while....lol.... life was good back then !!

I have two grandson that work for a beef producer. Feeds out calves with grain, anti biotics, and steroids on contracts. One grandson works there. Drives trucks a lot. His brother does the organic grass fed only side working as a cowboy. The grass fed are the owners cattle. He pays to have them slaughtered and USDA inspected then markets it himself.

We've killed three beef this year. One was a Grass-fed heifer who didn't breed and was FAT, one was a corn fed Holstein Steer and one was a corn fed Angus steer. All of them tasted good but I really liked the Grass fed Heifer, she had nice yellow fat, meat tasted great.

I do have a neighbor who sells every old cull cow as Grass fed which I suppose is true technically but it's certainly not what most people imagine they are paying a premium for.

Personally Ide take a couple year old bull over about anything.

Just so everyone is clear on the "steriod" label. The growth hormone used in cattle is estrogen and the amount in the meat on ur plate is less than a tenth of what is found naturally in lettuce by weight I believe. But uniformed consumers freak out about steroids in their beef yet unknowingly consumes much higher levels in their vegetables. Isn't that funny how people can be played.

I was not saying it was bad. Just that he produces beef in the standard fashion as well as "organically" . Maybe someday I will be smart enough to figure out why cattle penned up in lots and fed are not organic.

These days folks can’t tell the difference from fat cow and a poor bull, let alone grass vs. corn fed. Fact is our modern diet is so salted, sugared, and spiced up you’re really not tasting the food. It’s like morel mushrooms, everyone raves about how good they are. They’re not…butter and salt and pepper are good. I know an old boy who sold organic sweet corn out the bed of his truck and sold out ever Saturday. Folks just raves about that organic sweet corn. I knew where his patch was and it was everything but organic. Back before all the spices and flavorings I believe you could tell areal difference in quality meat. Now days just put some Worcestershire, Montreal steak seasons and a slab of butter on cheek meat, put her in the slow cooker and enjoy.

I figured you probably understand better than most. But since you brought it up I figured I'd share some light to others that may live in the dark.
