They are expecting a lot of downed trees and loss of power. I am trying to prepare for whatever comes. High temp tomorrow, mid 20s.
Kind of reminds me of the big Armistice day storm that killed so many duck hunters.

Wind gauge got to 50 then quit working. Dropped to 0. The wife saw a 5 gallon pail blowing across the yard and opened the door to get it “because it was so close” lol. Before she stepped out along came a pallet blowing across the yard. She decided she didn’t need a bucket after all. Lmao

Stay out of the Bog Master

You would rather have 40 below than 31 above? You must still have young bones in your body.

It is flat blowing here now. They are saying 75MPH , but some of those gusts are unreal! Just saw a protein tub sail by the window, about 15 feet off the ground. Can’t see no twister, just straight winds. Good thing the door is faced the way it is, at least I can look out and see whats going on!

Lee. was that protein tub full? We had it easy today. 21 degrees when I got up, that was the high for the day. It stayed about 18-21 degrees until about 02:00 PM and it started down. About 03:00 it started snowing hard with a 25-35 MPH wind. It is down to 7 above now and they show three below for the low. I usually show 6-8 degrees colder than what the weather does during the winter. We have our share of wind, but it wasn't bad today. Be Safe.

Just parked my trucks away from any potential falling trees.
Brought in a a couple extra armloads of wood.
Got plenty of food/beer for a few days.
I have a strange feeling things are gonna be bad/worse then most think for you all in the area being outlined.
Ice/wind is a horrible combo!
Good luck,be safe.

Lots of thunder and lightning here for the past hour or two and some heavy rain to accompany it. We have had dense fog here for the past 24 hours which was unusual too. I don't think we are to get the strong winds that the more southerly areas are supposed to get, though. Good luck and be safe to those who will be and are affected.

Got through the main line of storms. Might be strong winds on the way. Sounded pretty rough for bit and we wound up in the basement but back upstairs now. 2 twelvers of Leinies Toasted Bock, wood on the cart, freezer chock full of venison, beef, and pork...I think we're gonna make it!

Tornado hit my hometown, took 45 min to find out if my folks were ok. They are ..but lots of folks stuck in basements and no one is being allowed in town except responders.

Wind chill 3 above here winds blowing pretty good it was worse before you could hear the racket in the house but the weekend snow is crusted so it’s not going anywhere.

Had heavy rain for about an hour. Rain stopped a while ago and the wind has started to ramp up. Temp is still around 50 but that is headed down hill. The wind is supposed to turn into a real problem over night. Filling containers with water now,I expect we will lose our power sometime over night.0

Lost a huge Popple in the backyard. Did not break off, just pulled the whole root ball out of the ground. Going to be a tough one to deal with as it is leaning on two other trees. Will have to come up with a plan in the morning. Also lost some big limbs off some maples.
