All the stories I heard about that were pretty much…….you better be the first person to go because after the first guy went the badger knew what was happening! I remember Ludy Sheda telling the story one particular night down in I think Mason City at the Nationals.

Wish we had badgers, closest we have are woodchucks and they're tame compared to a badger. Couldn't imagine grabbing either one in a barrel, but it sounds safer than playing poker with a bull loose at the rodeo lol

I was there for several years in the 80s and I believe that picture was taken in 1982. Great line of Trapper’s gave demos like Bob cherkas, Alan drovedal of course Ardel Grawe and others.

after a few trappers not getting badger out with bare hands resulting in bloody hands, leather gloves were allowed ! Believe the event took place right next to the caged fence cougar !
