All the stories I heard about that were pretty much…….you better be the first person to go because after the first guy went the badger knew what was happening! I remember Ludy Sheda telling the story one particular night down in I think Mason City at the Nationals.

Not for me! Happy trapping! ScottW

Wish we had badgers, closest we have are woodchucks and they're tame compared to a badger. Couldn't imagine grabbing either one in a barrel, but it sounds safer than playing poker with a bull loose at the rodeo lol

I was there and tried it once, don’t remember the year. It didn’t work out very well for me.

What was the objective, to grab the badger out of the barrel without getting bit?

Never seen this before but recall a contest involving dogs attempting to drag a badger out of a barrel.

There isn't much difference between a badger and a wolverine neither one have ever gotten up on the right side of the bed .

The time l tried it one guy got out, but dropped it. There was a real circus getting it rounded back up again.

To get the badger out, just kick the barrel over, turn the barrel upside down from the base, kick it end over end and run behind the crowd.

I was there for several years in the 80s and I believe that picture was taken in 1982. Great line of Trapper’s gave demos like Bob cherkas, Alan drovedal of course Ardel Grawe and others.
