If they give you confidence then they work.
I don’t believe the hype, but know folks who swear by them.
I also have Amish buddies who kill monster deer wearing blue clothes they work all day in and stay down wind.

we had a house fire some years back. the cleaning company used an ozone generator to get the smoke smell out of the house. My brother had a fire across the hall from his apartment. Smoke damage throughout the building. He had renters insurance. We took all his clothes to a special dry cleaners with a de-ionidation (O3) room. We were gagging on the smell for the ride there with all the windows down in the car. When we picked up the clothes a few days later , you could not tell. No odor at all. It works in an enclosed environment. Hazardous to be in that environment for humans. As far as the little ones for hunting etc , I am skeptical.

I've built them before, takes a pretty good sized one to do anything really, stores and cleaning places sell them but small ones and they use them in a confined space to be really effective.
If you are around fresh lightening hits you can smell the reaction the charge does to the air, or a real heavy electrical storm then the rain will bring it down. Quite a unique smell really !
It's harmful for the same reason as other gas's, as it replaces the oxygen out of the area, especially in small areas.
They are also used in pool cleaning and sterilizing things needing such very efficient doing so.
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

They are also used in pool cleaning and sterilizing things needing such very efficient doing so. It doesn't remove the oxygen. It adds too much. Normal oxygen is referred to as O2 , two oxygen molecules together , normal type of oxygen in the atmosphere. Ozone generators create O3 combining three oxygen molecules , kinda abnormal. As the third oxygen molecule strips away , it clings to dust and odors. This is why a ozone generator works so well , it strips away the third oxygen molecule and drops off the dust/odor with it as that third molecule comes free looking for another oxygen molecule to pair up with to become O2 , it's natural state. Ever notice that an oxygen sensor in a car is referred to as an O2 sensor ? Normal state of oxygen in the air , not an O1 sensor. After a rainstorm there will be some natural occurring O3 particles in the air , gives you that fresh feeling/smell. Very short lasting as it reverts back to O2.

Interesting , GritGuy. I didn't know that a prolonged TIG welding produced O3. I bet good venting while doing that is SOP. I learned something new , thanks.
O3 is VERY corrosive to the lungs. As mentioned , the 3rd oxygen molecule is looking for anything like dust or an odor to break it's bond to the other oxygen molecules. Anything. Your lung tissue would suffice. Venting the area is a MUST after using an ozone generator. This is also why it so good at removing odors. The 3rd molecule of oxygen is so desperate to find a bit of dust/odor to break it's bond from the two oxygen molecules. After it has bonded with the dust/odor , it can break free leaving the dust/odor to drop to the ground as a solid and not an airborne particle.

Just to give you an idea of how odors and smells work at the molecular level , I was working doing plumbing once with another plumber. We had to cut into a waste pipe in a basement to repair a leak. As he cut into the pipe , some water spilled out onto the concrete floor. It stunk bad. As you all know about 'sewer gas' it smells like rotten eggs.
Sewer gas is Hydrogen Sulfide gas - (H2S)
Being this was in a basement , a laundry room was nearby. I got some bleach from the laundry room and put just a couple drops of bleach into the puddle of waste water. The smell dissapeared instantly.
What I had done with just 2-3 drops of bleach was adding Chlorine (Cl) which is a great oxygentor to the puddle. It immediately adds Oxygen (O) to the mix. This breaks the bond with the Sulfur (S) . The Hydrogen (H) gas can no longer lift the Sulfur (S) gas as Hydrogen (H) is a light gas and it rises. The bond between the two breaks quickly as the Chlorine (Cl) overwhelms the Sulfur (S) molecules replacing them with Oxygen (O) making (H2O) or if ya want to get fancy , it's chemical name is Dihydrogen Monoxide. Most people just call it water. Plain water doesn't off-gas easily like Hydrogen (H) mixed with Sulfur (S)
It only takes a mear few drops of Chlorine (Cl) to break the bond with the Sulfur (S) It then reverts back to a solid and is no longer airborne.

I have no clue about the stuff they sell for hunting but the cleaning team removed all smoke smell from my house before the repair got started. ALL our clothes were replaced by the insurance company. Adjuster said that was the only option. The exception was my wifes furs. The cleaning company took care of them. I dont know what they did but again they were odorless when they were returned.
