I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this vase. Absolutely no markings inside or outside. Handmade. Glazed it is clay. Not ceramic. Wondering if anyone has seen another like it. I have been searching online for a month for a picture. Nothing close. Thanks [Linked Image]

I dunno but I like it. Lady friend was wanting to buy a quilt off Ebay. She had to go to work but wanted to be sure she got it so she put a bid of $500 on it. It sold for $7300.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

What's the difference between "clay" and "ceramic"...?

I do a lot with antiques but not vases or glassware. My advice would be to hang onto it till you know exactly what you have and what it is worth. Some of that stuff goes for insane prices, some a couple bucks but don;t make the mistake of selling too quick.

Weller?.....Rookwood?.......also look up Majolica. Early Roseville had a blue stamp on the bottom that might be worn off.

my daughter was just telling me about how mixed up the art world is right now , some ridiculous amount of famous art is in storage right now . owned by people who hold it for it's value and not to look at it.

she is an Art education Major planning to teach high school art , but gets a lot of the fine arts side also .

quilts are big money just to make

had the big 8 foot by 8 foot table out today helping the wife layer up a quilt , she has a co-worker who would give her a deal on Long arm quilting the quilt
it is a queen and will probably actually get tied , a Deal on long arming is 250-300 dollars

with fabric at 12-15 dollars a yard figure a big quilt like a queen or kin your looking at around 9 yards front and 9 yards back and then batting 240 in material , 35 in batting and that doesn't even consider any labor

add thread and binding 300 in materials and simple quilting 250-300 it adds up quick
