Thumb thick kill stick will stone a fox or cat. A 2 inch stick will stone a wolf.Even a big one. So I imagine somewhere in between for coyote.

Nedd to be in the ground a couple feet and need to be three feet above it if using rebar. Else they will cut theirselves up on the top of it. Those kill springs that look like little conibear springs with a trigger are working good without a tangle pole

Sticks or natural location is best. No need to haul anything but a hatchet. Even in trails in long grass field there should be some nearby brush to cut a kill stick.
