Like ALL meat needs to be handled and cook by someone that knows what they are doing.

I tried a young female once , dispatch , clean and as soon as it got gold soaking in a pot of cold water , started par boiling , got most all the fat off
I think i could have made better with her but it reminded me a lot of turkey leg
I think cooked slow it could make chili , or bbq , shredded could even make temales
now there would be something coon tamales

The one I tried was parboiled. Shredded into crock pot with BBQ sauce. Tasted like pulled pork to me. It was free range, hormone/ antibiotic free and all natural so that definitely added to the culinary experience.
I thought it was much better than any duck I'd ever tried or lamb for that matter. Lol

Lol If a fella can't hold it down fixed like that, there is something wrong with him. My sister-in-law prepared it like that when I was a guest at their house. As a guest, a fella eats whatever is put in front of him. I was going through the cold sweats, heavy jowls, drool was welling up like it does just before you vomit. I forced myself to put some on a bun just enough meat to stain the bun with red bbq sauce and hurried up and closed the bun before anyone noticed. I took a bite and discovered, to my amazement, that it was absolutely delicious and opened that bun back up and loaded it up with bbq coon,

To many worms for me umless i get very hungry. But at that point i will be happy with smoked opossum and grilled coyote. I was wondering if they take out those ankle worms before they eat them. I will make a hard pass on the coon. I will eat bobcat though. It's the other white meat.

I am sure some people can cook just about anything...just not one of them... my wife doesn't complaint too much about what is hanging in the garage but a coon in her kitchen nah.. I would be pushing my luck. Same here. The dime I’m married to would grab me by the wedding tackle and I’d be asking for change back!!
