I grew up with this site and it was a huge part of my learning experience. If and when it has come down to the time, it needs a to be handed to someone capable of carrying it on!

I'm thinking somewhere in the tens of millions just to shut us all up with our talk of hunting,trapping, fishing, family, religion and living a normal life. The wako buggers spent 4.2 Millon three years ago to get me and 1,500 cattle off 2,200 acres just to lock it up and let the drought and grasshoppers destroy a beautiful Ranch.

You know as well as anybody, if it's not a scam the value would be, for them, how much advertising value it carries. How much they can make off adds. Your stats are known by the bots that visit your site, you know the reoccurring ones that only stay for 3 seconds. The ones that are always marked unique. You most likely have your IT. guys/lady's checking to make sure your servers are secure. You also know your rep. Is trusted we all know you can't be bought. I personally think it's a scam. Just make sure you keep up on the domain name payments. (Little smiley thingy).

I have to think that the site/company listed is bogus. You’ll notice the writer called you “Paul” as if he knew you. Maybe he does. But I suspect he doesn’t and is just phishing for internal information you currently don’t share with anyone.

Next, it looks like he wants to act on this quickly because they have a finite number of the websites, etc they’ll buy.
The idea that you must act fast as they don’t handle a lot of new business smells terribly like a scam.

If I was a serious buyer, I’d send you a letter written on paper, and give you a phone number and my business address. I’d follow up with a phone call shortly after the letter was sent. In other words, I’d try to prove to you me and my company were legitimately interested in buying your business.

If you’re serious about this, talk to a business transaction lawyer who can check this guy and his company out. You may find it’s either legit or not. You may also find out what sort of business they want, such as your lure business, to be part of it. Lawyers aren’t high on anyone’s list until you realize you’ve been taken by a slick, out of state company that didn’t have your well-being in mind. It just doesn’t hurt to protect yourself before you hold a pen in your hand.

Also, if you do decide to sell the business, please remove my email address from your database. I really don’t want to share that information with a purely advertising company.

The offer certainly won’t be what the site is worth. It’s a business decision by some investors. What it’s worth and what the offer will be will be completely off balance.

That said, I think the offer will be in the 60k range.

Sounds about like what happened to the "Michigan Sportsman" site. Now it's just non stop adds and popups....Give us a heads up, I'll sit closer to the door.
