A question for the Business Majors--

Do they teach this business model in business school? Start/buy/acquire a business and then run it into the ground and walk away with whatever they can get?

It seems to be happening more and more.

There was a Canadian company that bought a gun forum I belonged to. After the sale everyone left and started another site. The sold one turned into a buy/sell site and the new one flourished.

Don’t remember what it sold for but it was a decent chunk of change.

How much traffic and ad revenue does this place get?

That would determine value

why these places want forums like this , a large media Group took over a very popular site I have been on since 2006 and moderated over there for many years also.

what ever it is worth , it will have 70% less traffic when it looses it's personality.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I've only been on here for a couple weeks but this is something special, like virtually nowhere else on the internet. One thing that I think would improve traffic is a bit of graphical updating to look more enticing to younger people like myself, and maybe make the forums open first upon entering the website since that's where the action is. I visited Trapperman several times before realizing that these forums were still active. Most people my age have very short attention spans and would not take the time to even check. Pretty sad, really frown

It's a question of whether we're going to go forward into the future, or past to the... to the back.
