Soyjuzpushnina the Russian fur auction company in ST. Petersberg had a decent sable sale last week. Better goods (silvery skins) brought increased prices from last sale with almost complete clearances. Lesser qualities and average colors did not fare as well. Russia was very active in the sale and brokers were speculating that was because of this year's increased oil price. Maybe this bodes well for high quality, fully prime fur for this coming spring auction? Unprime and lesser quality wild fur looks like it will still be dead in the water, and bring pennies, as Russia usually buys the better goods. Hopefully this is a trend.

Good luck figuring that one out. They been having 25% or so clearances on farm sable for a few years now.

I dug into this more in the past week. They published their brokers report and stated that quality goods have successfully moved through the sale's normal channels. They are private treaty selling secondary goods at acceptable levels.???? At least it sounds like there is movement, but I can't find levels since I don't have an account for Soyjuzpushnina.
