Would like to start using these on traps and snares. Are the 220 pound enough? Thanks

At a minimum use the Large 3/16" and use pliers to tighten.

Pliers to tighten is interesting. I'm aware of trying to get links off in the cold......... but putting them on like that on purpose I might try. Thanks.

I would try to talk you outta using Quicklinks. From people being able to open them to coyotes chewing them up every now and again, I'd never use them unless the rig you're putting together has some sort of long drag or something.

Quick links resemble coyote chew toys.

Blessings,
Mark

Large and xl both hold coyotes fine. If caked with frozen mud better have cable cutters with ya.

I’ve used the 3/16th size for well over twenty years, with no loss and not one chewed up. I’ve used on long chains, short chains andthe way I currently set them up, with about 24 inches of chain, and not one loss or close call. Always tighten them with pliers. I run a lot of sterlings, and wouldn’t riskthem on something that was risky.

I to have used the 3/16 versions. I always tighten them with my pliers before even setting the traps.

And I use a short chain(10-12 inches) w/2-3 swivels attached to 18" of Berkshire ground stake.

No slamming the stake when short staked.

Been using 3/16" quick links for about 8 years. I attach them to 15" pogos. I tighten them with pliers when I attach the cable stake.....at the truck/SxS.

I have never had a compromise or one crushed by a coyote.

I use the 1/8" (220 lb) links on beaver snares to attach extensions. Never had a beaver compromise one of those, but I would NEVER use the 1/8" for coyotes.

I hope I never run into the coyote that can chew through a 3/16" quick link. I would guess they're heavier than the chain most people use.
