Hi all, I've got an opportunity to pick up a lightly used S&W 629 5" .44 mag for $900. Stainless w/original rubber grip, and adjustable rear sight. Think it's a good deal? Would be buying from one of my reloading buddies.

I can't say for sure but I bought mine used 5 years ago for $950 canadian pesos. Come with a couple boxes of shells.

They normally bring $1,000-1200

I have nothing clever to put here.

I'm looking for that exact gun. I'd buy it for that.

Great guns, that's a good price.

Your rite in my wheelhouse. Yes all day long, but you know what they say about if it sounds to good to be true. Anyway you can check it out with the law, or do you really trust the guy? If so don't see a downside.

Naw, I really trust the guy. He's a teacher at the school my wife works at and we've known each other for about 6 years now. Funny coincidence, he student-taught at my high school in shop class. Have done a fair bit of shooting with him at the range, we trade reloading supplies, and he's gone coyote hunting with me in the past as well. Good guy, always buying & selling guns. I'm going to have to think about this a bit....I'd like to get a receiver hitch mounted on my pickup in order to haul an ATV and flip-over ice fishing shack on the pickup without having to drag a trailer around, but the dang hitch itself is going to cost around $250. Can't do it all, unfortunately.
