Working on a cable restraint order tonight,so I am in the basement with my stereo and my stack of LPs. Just finished listening to side 1 of 1969s LP-Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde. Old Blue, your gentle way of loving me and Nashville west are some of my favorites from this album. If you haven't heard them, you may want to bring the album up on a search and give it a listen--hound hunters should really enjoy -Old Blue. Tom

I usually start singing with Mr. Spaceman-when checking beaver traps. I want any bears in the area to know I am coming--one bear charging me was more than enough for me. My singing has worked , haven't had a bear incident since I started singing. Tom

you would probably have to be younger than 40 to now know what an LP is
I had a record player when I was a kid. used to hang out in the basement and play 8 tracks
my wife has just one LP but we have no way of playing it currently she bought it for the cover art
my dad still has a lot of LPs and a player he bought lots of music , I was never much for buying music I had about 5 tapes in my truck , all mixes or copies people made for me
finding music to play is almost like work so I don't do it much
the kids wanted spotify , we had pandora for a while since they want it I have it and I have some channels I put on
I liked pandora better you could thumbs down things , with Spotify you have to build a station or roll with whatever the channel has made up
but the kids like spotify more and I don't care to pay for any extra
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I started my record collection in 1964.Got meet the Beatles at the Emporium in downtown St.paul--49cents during the Lincolns birthday sale. I listened to the radio constantly and at that time we had 3 rock stations and all of the gave away 45s if you were the right number caller and could answer the trivia question. I would win on one station and the go to one of the other stations till I won.You had to wait 30 days after winning, before you could win again.During my waiting period,I would win the contests using my brothers name. I also won concert tickets--My wife and I have seen,Judy Collins,Johnny Cash, Paul Rever and the Raiders and others with free concert tickets--One of the reasons I am a music trivia buff. Tom

Those were god days, I bought most of my records in the late 60s 70s part of the 80s. Was friends with guy that filled the juke box at the cafe-bar my mom cooked at and got most of my 45s for 10 cent a piece.Albums I bought back in the day that are pressed now are way higher priced now, used to enjoy it when I could get to Musicland. Weren't some of them juke-box 45s drilled with a hole in the label ring?? I know we had some of them at home at one time. Seem to recall something they did funky with the label like how X-out golfballs?? We still have a pile of LPs here most of which are country. My wife used to have us signed up with think was RCA record club? have some old 45s and even stack 78s. The 78s came from my parents house. I haven't looked at them for some time now. Think there is some original Hank Williams, Eddy Arnold that kind a stuff. Mac

33, 45, 78.
Had a lot of fun turning serious musicians into The Chipmunks by running 33's on 45 rpm.

Tom - it might be helpful to explain “my stack of LPs”.
Mac and I both know what you are talking about but I bet a lot of younger members don’t have a clue!! LOL LOL,,I still got a handful of them lying around somewhere.

One LP I have and probably most 60's music listeners don't,is one by Terry Melcher--son of Doris Day.I picked it up in a close out bin many years ago. I knew who Melcher was because he produced the Byrds first 2 albums, along with several of the popular 60's bands,Clarence White was one of the backup musicians and Doris Day also was a backup singer on a couple of the songs. A closeout bin special, but a very enjoyable listen. Tom
