a while back someone ask about 330, for cats in Michigan , [Linked Image]
[Linked Image]
in Michigan they have to be 4 foot off the ground, I use a whole beaver carcass, wire to the tree, leave enough branches so they can't jump up from ground, and get by trap,

That's a tad different than the bobcat sets we use here in Texas. grin

Serious question...Why elevate the trap that much? Wouldn't the cat be slinking up the pole with it's head down low while approaching the bait? Never trapped cats so I don't know, but guys get them to stick their heads in cubbies and buckets...??

This is The same question I just thought of. How tall of an extension are you using?

So even if it's up 4 or 5 feet on the pole it still needs to be up 4" or more off the log (the log is considered to be the ground)??

Guessing maybe 6" since it's holding a 330

I have found that if you don't elevate the trap off the log, many times the 'cat will try to leap over the entire trap.

the stand for the traps are 5 inches high , I have found that cat will stick there head in better , time will tell , :), I try to put brush over the top of the trap to prevent jumping over trap
