Walmart here has had the 325 packs of Federal .22s on the shelf steady every day for over a month now.$20 a box.Not much else though unless you want steel waterfowl shot or .350 Legend rounds.

Walmart here had 525 round Rem .22 LR for $39.97, I passed, 2 boxes on the shelf. A bunch of 20 gauge 2 3/4 #4 steel. Several skeet cases of 12 gauge #8 100 round cases. Ammo prices have gone up at Walmart, gun prices also.

I've been looking for 45/90s,I realize its not the most popular round in this day and age,but there's no brass to be had, period.I had one dealer tell me Starline was over 2 years behind in production.Concerning some of the more modern rounds I haven't seen anything ammo wise being more abundant, not around here anyway.I walked into one gun shop a few weeks ago and was literally shocked when I saw their tiny ammo selection.I was looking for either 45/70 or .17 HMR,they laughed at me.Told me to buy a 9 mm,they had that.

Buy what is available and try to trade it for what you need.

I ordered a bunch of target loads last February. Still haven’t seen a shipping notice. I ended up buying what I needed for last year from another place. May have to do the same this year.

Don’t think the prices are low enough to start restocking your supply yet?

Wonder why the 350 Legend is available. I see some 300 Savage boxes. Must have made too many 10 years ago. I doubt there are any rifles being made for 300 Savage now.
Belong to a sporting clay range. Haven't shot since renewing my membership in April. Picked up a 12 and 20 Model 12 Winchesters. Haven't shot either, but I didn't buy them for routine use. You would think gun prices might go down, but nope. Since the very first stimulus check, store racks have been mostly empty. I think with 350 legend releasing in 2019 they had a warehouse of ammo built up to make sure it wasn't an issue to find ammo for it. with not that many of them out there it didn't sell out near as fast fair number of guns back in stock here , it is the ammo that is still limited options , but more available than it was

I was in the local Walmart last week for meds, by chance decided to walk through sporting goods. There on the shelves were two lonely boxes of Federal, 100 grain .243 for $25/box. The department manager told me they got their ammo shipment in that morning ... just those two boxes. He then asked," you're taking them both, right? I just couldn't leave them boxes there; been looking to replenish my stock since the grandson started hunting two years ago.

Was checking in with nearby outfit that sells reloading supplies, and among other things, owner mentioned another problem related to ammo shortages relates to the proliferation of new calibers over the years. Same manufacturing capacity, but more types of ammo to make. No 6mm Rem being made, instead, you get 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 Grendal, 6mm Creedmoor, etc. To sell the guns, they have to have ammo to feed them. So between that and demand from an expanding consumer base, ammo makers have got themselves spread pretty thin.

I have a box of .357 magnum 158 grain jsp that i bought to shoot at targets with a friends gun. He had plenty of ammo, so i didnt fire a single bullet. I dont know what to do with them now. lol There are shortages, but also people who dont know what to do with bullets. if you go to gun shows , put a not on them and walk around or put a not up on the board at a local club. hard to imaging no one around you doesn't have a need for a box at the price you paid for it I had a dog bed several years back , one of those tube and mesh trampoline like dog beds my dog wouldn't lay on it , put it on Craig's list or similar and the cop who bought it offered to pay me in ammo , I had just bought a new pistol and was happy to have several boxes of factory ammo. he was outfitting the retirement job as a kennel and breeder he had a house he had built with walk out basement all kennels

Anyone from New York order ammo thru the mail lately, Tried Cabala's, Midway & a couple others. They would not ship to NY state. Is a new law I missed.
